My dream Doom game would use these aspects, skip out on the totally ridiculous, exaggerated gore, and focus on enhancing the skillfulness of the weapons and enemies. Across the board really, the reloads for the Shotgun, Rocket Launcher, and other weapons enhance the believability/immersion/realism without compromising the original mechanics. In turn, the assault rifle, its ADS, and reloads allow you to play Doom in more of a realistic tactical manner if you want. IMO the best aspect of Brutal Doom is the weapon functionality, rather than the gore.īy introducing an assault rifle, they freed up the chaingun from performing an AR role, and instead allowed it to work like an actual minigun, with insane rate of fire.
